WHY PDSL?
The newly founded PDSL is a grass roots organization, created, monitored and managed by soccer professionals in Central PA with the express purpose of creating competitive balance, awareness, learning and growth as it pertains to the full and comprehensive spectrum of youth soccer development in the region. The PDSL exists for the sole purpose of educating parents, players, parent-coaches, coaches, spectators and referees in the multi-faceted aspects of the sport of soccer and competition.
WHAT IS PDSL?
1. PDSL Futsal League (starting January of 2008)
a. Designed to run during the winter months (January-March) with emphasis on the technical and creative aspects of the game.
2. PDSL Outdoor League (starting March of 2008)
a. A league for U6, U7 and U8 year olds in a small sided environment combined with a clinic format to educate parents, coaches and players and set to run outdoors during the spring and fall at one location in Manheim Twp or Penn Twp.
b. An apprentice program for Senior High level soccer players to begin getting the feel for coaching youth and understanding soccer development.
3. PDSL Coaching Resource Center (starting July of 2008)
a. Single-day coaching clinics offered in July and in February.
b. Website with a compilation of USSF Academy coaching updates
c. On-line library of coaching resources and links to various coaching sites
d. National Licensing Courses taught from USSF and/or NSCAA.
